By visiting our website, creating an account, subscribing, or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

In these Terms, "THE SEED LOCAL," "we," "us," and "our" refer to THE SEED LOCAL, LLC, a limited liability company based in Nashville, Tennessee. "You" and "your" refer to the person using our website.

Terms & Conditions - the basics

1. ABOUT US

THE SEED LOCAL is a Nashville-based urban agriculture and education company. We help people start gardens, grow their gardening knowledge, and find their community. We offer workshops, garden coaching plans, and educational content. The information and services on our website are provided for general, educational, and community purposes.

2. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Your continued use of our website after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

3. USING OUR WEBSITE

You may use our website for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes only. When you use our website, you agree not to:

  • Use it in any way that violates a law or regulation.

  • Copy, reproduce, resell, or distribute our content without our written permission.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our website, accounts, or systems.

  • Introduce viruses, malicious code, or anything that could harm our website or other users.

  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or collect information from our website.

  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.

We may suspend or end your access to our website at any time if you violate these Terms.

4. ACCOUNTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

Some features, such as our newsletter or subscriber content, may require you to provide an email address or create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account or subscription.

When you subscribe to our emails, you agree to receive communications from us. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us at www.theseedlocal.com.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, course and workshop materials, and the name THE SEED LOCAL, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view and use this content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell, or use it for any other purpose without our written permission.

6. PURCHASES, WORKSHOPS, AND COACHING

We sell workshops, events, and garden coaching plans through our website. When you complete a purchase or booking, you agree to pay the listed price, including any applicable taxes and fees. Prices and availability may change at any time before you complete a purchase.

Descriptions of what each workshop, event, or coaching plan includes are provided at the time of purchase. Garden coaching plans are a planning service. The scope of what is delivered is described at the point of sale. Results from any garden plan or workshop depend on many factors outside our control, including weather, soil, pests, and how the plan is carried out. We do not guarantee specific gardening outcomes.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

We understand that plans change, and we aim to be fair and flexible.

Workshops and events: If you need to cancel, contact us at hello@theseedlocal.com. If you cancel at least [7] days before the event, you may choose a full refund or a credit toward a future event. If you cancel within [7] days of the event, we are not able to offer a refund, but we will do our best to offer a credit toward a future event or the option to transfer your spot to someone else. Because many of our events involve food, catering, and reserved space booked in advance, late cancellations carry costs we cannot recover.

If we cancel or reschedule an event, you will be offered a full refund or a credit toward a future event.

Coaching plans: Because coaching plans involve custom work prepared for you, refunds are handled case by case. If you have not yet received your plan, contact us at hello@theseedlocal.com and we will work with you on a refund or credit. Once your plan has been delivered, it is generally non-refundable.

All refunds are issued to the original method of payment.

8. EDUCATIONAL CONTENT AND NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

The gardening information, guides, and coaching we provide are for general educational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional advice where such advice is appropriate, including advice from a licensed arborist, horticulturist, or other specialist. You are responsible for how you apply the information we share, including any decisions about plants, soil amendments, tools, or products.

Some of our events involve food. If you attend an event, you are responsible for informing us of any allergies or dietary restrictions in advance. We cannot guarantee that food served at our events is free of any particular allergen.

9.ASSUMPTION OF RISK FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS

Our workshops and events may take place in gardens, kitchens, outdoor spaces, or other venues, and may involve physical activity, tools, plants, and food. By attending, you accept the ordinary risks that come with these activities and agree to follow any safety instructions we provide. You are responsible for your own health and safety and, where applicable, for anyone you bring with you.

10. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

Our website may link to third-party websites, tools, or services, and we may use third-party providers to process payments, host content, or send email. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party's own terms and policies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, THE SEED LOCAL and its owners, members, and staff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of our website, our content, or our services. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific product or service that gave rise to the claim.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless THE SEED LOCAL and its owners, members, and staff from any claims, losses, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your use of our website, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of any other person.
